Gujarat Government Signs Rs 22,500 Crore MoU with Micron Technology
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) for Rs 22,500 crore was also inked by the Gujarat government and Micron Technology, a leading manufacturer of semiconductor chips. In accordance with the MoU, the state would get an advanced Assembly, Testing, Marking, and Packaging (ATMP) facility. According to this Memorandum of Understanding, the US-based company will receive financial support from the Central Government totaling 50% of the project's cost, with additional incentives totaling 20% of the overall expenditure coming from the state governments.
Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), a leader in US CHIP design, stated Friday that it will invest up to $400 million in India over the next five years and build its largest design lab there.

The addition of the new campus will bring AMD's office count in India to ten sites. More than 6,500 people work for it currently in the nation. By the end of 2028, the future facility will result in the creation of almost 3,000 new engineering positions.
The main rival to Intel is AMD, a global leader in semiconductor chip creation. Though it outsources the production of chips to contract manufacturers like TSMC, unlike some of its main competitors.
